Pros: There are positives to be expressed about the mattress, but not the bed frame
Cons: Please see my review where I have expressed my concern about the Bragada bed frame
I am wondering if I am the only Bragada customer who is VERY concerned about the kingsize bed frame they sell with the Vienna mattress. The frame's center support bar runs from head to toe and is the support bar which the TWO side-by-side box springs must share. Because the bar is only 1.5 inches wide, that leaves only 3/4 of an inch for each box spring to rest on. Even though we had excellent deliverymen, with years of experience, to set up our bed (for an extra $300 paid to Bragada), even THEY were concerned about the frame's construction. After the delivery men spend a LOT of time trying to set up the frame so the support bar ends up dead center in the frame, when I lifted up one of the box springs, it was sitting on a mere 1/4 inch of support, not 3/4! If for any reason the box springs should, over time, shift a bit to the left or right, the box spring and the 250 pound (!) mattress sitting on it would come crashing to the ground along with the people sleeping on it. When I went online and checked similarly priced metal bed frames for king-size mattresses, they all have a DOUBLE-wide middle support, not a single middle support like the frame that came with our Bragada Vienna king size bed. When the delivery men came and set up the frame, I was very concerned by this feature as were they. But when I called up Bragada to tell them my concern (before the delivery men left), I was told by the customer service rep that they we could not return the frame since it wasn't cost-effective for the company to pay the return-shipping on it. And when I asked to speak with the customer service manager, she said that in all the years Bragada has sold these bed frames, they have NEVER had anyone express concern about their safety and they have NEVER had a single complaint about them. Thus, I am reaching out to the internet community to ask if this is true. Did any of you, when putting together the kingsize bed frame, have the same concern that I and the delivery men had with it? In fairness to the customer service mgr, she was very polite, but when I did my "research" on the internet after the delivery men left, I found, as indicated earlier, that ALL of the metal bed frames shown on the internet for a king size bed have a DOUBLE-wide center support beam, not a single, like the Bragada has. If the vast majority of frame manufacturers see a need for a double-wide middle support beam, it is hard for me to believe that I am the ONLY person who has expressed concern about the single-wide support beam frame provided by Bragada.
