We stayed in this hotel for 3 days recently. It was convenient, great location and provided a good night's rest thanks to it's wonderful bed and pillows. Location is pretty good with great eats within walking distance like the cheesecake factory, ghiradelli's, wow bao, cielo's etc. Right beside the John Hancock, Water Tower, Trolley stops and great shopping!
All in all I have to say this is an above average hotel especially if you can get a good price for it. Also since I'm not a particularly picky traveller and everything was expected I didn't have much interation with the staff other than checking in/out so I can't comment on the staff like others may have. :)
Is it like a Waldorf Astoria ? No! but then again I'm not paying $500/night for it either. I would rate this hotel pleasant and comfortable enough to meet the avg person's hotel need.
I typically don't swim so the lack of pool doesn't affect me much. The bed and pillows are top notch unlike most hotels with cheapie pillows and matresses.
Only thing that bothered me a little was the fairly expensive parking at $35 a day. and no there are no pro rate even though technically I only use maybe 13 hrs on my last day there. (cause of earlier check out)
p:s This hotel beats the Palmer House Hilton hands down for which I also stayed at recently for about the same price!
