GlitterGenie's Full Review: L. Frank Baum, Martin (RTL) Powell, Eloise McGraw,...
Ever since I was a little child, I always anticipated the Wizard of Oz being aired on T.V. This is one of the best movies of all time. For the dreamers out there, this classic masterpeice is the god of all movies. The book is even better.
Keep in mind, if you have seen the movie (and who hasn't) then there is no way you can't get totally into this book. You know exactly what all of the characters look like, how they sound, what they act like, etc.. But this books imagination possibilities are endless. In the movie, you get what you see. Read the book and the land of Oz is yours to create. Dorothy doesn't have to have it all. Take a trip down the yellow brick road yourself.
The book also features a few scenes that never made to the final cut in the movie. Some of these scenes, in my opinion should never have been cut from the movie. But reading these new scenes is great because it gives you a chance to create your OWN idea of what happened. In the movie, you KNOW how it went. In the book you can create your own scenario.
If you are a fan of the Wizard of Oz, I suggest you go out and get this book. Even if you aren't a fan, this book is great and would be fun to read on a rainy day.
