I read the Hobbit when I was 10 years old, but ever since that no fantasy book has ever been able to come close...
Until now, Robert Jordan weaves together adventure, drama, and romance together as masterfully as Tolkien ever did.
The story is based on a young Rand' al'Thor, a young villager, who just happens to be the saviour of the entire world. Unfortunately, he doesn't know it yet.
In the first few books it is mainly him, and his friends(Perrin Aybara, Mat Cauthon, and Egwene al'Vere) running around, avoiding the bad guys, and trying to stay out of trouble. The books take a turn for the dramatic in the later books, as they each rise to a position of power and influence in their own way, paving the way for a great battle to determine the fate of the world.
