Pros:This is a work for hardcore, diehard fantasy fans!
Cons:It's a long series(about 9 books so far) and it's still not finished yet.
The Bottom Line: I highly recomend the book if you have read the series and are a fan of it.
Tolkien had it right--for his time. Robert Jordan takes that idea and brings it to another level. I have never read a book or series of books so fascinating. The world he creates is completely believable and his rules of magic are deep and always true to itself. I have read other books where the laws of magic suddenly change and it leaves me with a feeling of disappointment. I can gaurantee that there will be no such feeling of disappointment after reading this series. To summarize, the book is about three young men and two young women from a small villiage that embark on a journey unlike any---ever. Men with magic ability end up going insane because an evil being has placed a taint on the male half of the Power. This means that the female half of the Power is the only useable half. I cannot tell more without ruining the plot, but it is a MUST READ for any Fantasy fanatic! The World of Robert Jordan's wheel of time offers insight to his world and with vivid pictures, helps to broaden understanding of his series.
