Welcome to Epinions...and to 'books'...:-)
Listen to everyone else...:-) I can not add a lot at this point to their comments.
Let me leave an URL that should give you some good ideas about melding your writing style with the expected 'norm' here at Epinions. Good stuff if you read with an open mind...:-)

Box set? (Reply to this comment)
by kld718
Boxed sets are hard to review because you want to give your reader a good idea about the whole set. I would suggest that you try and explain what the whole series is about. Maybe give some details about each book to help further your readers knowledge about the set. This might make for a longer review, but you will find that your ratings will increase because you are giving a full understanding about the whole series. Give us an idea of who the characters are. Are they the same throughout the whole series?
If you update, please let me know.

Hi. Welcome to Epinions. =)
The review needs some more details about the plot to be more helpful. Who were the characters? Was the book well written? Descriptive? What did you like and dislike about the book? Who do you think should read the book? Share more of your thoughts about the book.
If you update, email me the URL so I can find the review to read again.
Good luck. =)

You have a great start (Reply to this comment)

and your enthusiasm is unquestionable. I also like how you make an effort to compare the work to others in the genre.
My first suggestion would be to include an explanation of the premise behind the story, so that your reader will know what the book is about, who the characters are, and what their goals are.
It's also great to write about the author's style in detail.
The best advice is to read a lot of other reviews written by highly rated writers here at epinions. Learn what it is that makes their reviews so helpful.
Good luck. I hope you enjoy your time here.
