I am the President of a recent eBusiness Start-up for a major insurance company in Chicago, IL. We needed a powerful, portable solution for 150 new employees for this start-up. We chose the IBM Thinkpad T20 with 128 MB of RAM, an 18 Gig Hard Drive and Windows 2000. These machines were also ordered with a mini-docking station and are connected through an Ethernet network. We have had most of them for six months and have not had any mechanical problems.
These machines are light and fast. They also will run for five hours with a second battery in the ultrabay. The 14 inch screen is very bright and all of our people use these machines for an average of 10 hours per day with just the LCD screen in the laptop, no external monitor or keyboard. The best Pentium III machine I have used. I do prefer a Powerbook from Apple, and have one, but use one of these as well. My people love them.
