| sgersh's Full Review: Thomas the Tank Engine Circle Set |
If your child loves Thomas the Tank, then he or she will go nuts over this toy -- for exactly five minutes. Then your spouse will go nuts that you spent over $20 for essentially a small circular track with a single train piece to shove around.
General Note
Be very wary of a toy that markets itself as part of a "system." "System" is toy marketing speak for "evacuate your wallet."
The Good Points
The materials used to construct this miserly set are of good quality. This boring toy should last your child years. It should make an excellent heirloom.
The Bad Points
Twenty-four ninety-nine is a high price to pay for a train set with less than a dozen total pieces. Also, the product is recommended for kids "2 and up." Every child over the age of 26 months I've seen encounter this toy have given it a big yawn.
Why you'd want it
This would be a good toy for the Grandparents' house. Not too many pieces to lose, not hard to clean up, looks nice. On the other hand, why do they always get it so easy?
Upshot
Your money is better spent elsewhere.
