About Me: CONCENTRATE on a more productive New Year. Heres to 2012 !

Its okay mixed well with peach/mango nectar, but straight, naw !

Written: Aug 05 '10
Pros:Expensive and Great for the vodka connoisseur
Cons:Expensive & Feeble attempt for the real MANGO fruit lover !
The Bottom Line: Mixes w/ juice, nectars, pref same friut. For Vodka elite, but fruit lovers, -. Serves best chilled & accompanies appetizers mentioned very well.

I have found that starting a new career means having some better budgeting skills offering a more feasible bankroll giving a little more ‘play money’ than I was used to. Now I can explore some spending possibilities in areas I only categorize as luxury for expanding my horizons. I like to sample different kinds of alcohol and since I am small framed, can’t tolerate too much of it so it better be GREAT !

This product is NOT so GREAT ! In fact, I am glad I went dutch with a family member cause it was more like mango-flavored kerosene. Three Olives Vodka Mango is a toss-up for recommendation because some say the mango is subtle and not over-bearingly sweet so mixing this into juices is a real alcoholic treat; while others say it is still grain alcohol no matter how flavored. Mango or otherwise . . . I am on of those peoples.

I drank Three Olives Vodka Mango straight up over ice and sipped
for about an hour./ None of the throwing back a few shots anymore and hoping I can maintain a vertical position without truly wanting just a horizontal one, I am older and wiser but not so wise as this vodka is not my favorite. I had to do a lot of mixing with peach mango juice and nectar before I could make a drink I wanted to devour. So my recommendation is again slanting to ‘no’.

But on with the review so you can decide for yourself . . .

|| ALLERGY NOTE ||

It is not unlikely to be allergic to the citrus portion of the mango infused here with premium vodka from England so discuss this with your doctor.
|| ABSORPTION/ ASSIMILATION ||

Three Olives Vodka Mango
 is an alcoholic beverage folks do you really think its not going to absorb into some brain cell, erythrocyte or even a leukocyte at cellular level ? Sure it will and at a rate that for small people under 120 lbs and 5’ 6 inches is dangerous, I only recommend two mixed drinks with this in a three hour period OR 2 hefty shots in a two hour period; otherwise drink until the cows come home.

|| APPEARANCE ||

The fine spirit of Three Olives Vodka Mango is a clear strong-smelling of grain alcohol (slightly different smell than ethyl alcohol) less astringent and assuming a typical free-flowing liquid. It is not orange colored or mango colored but clear as the Vodka spirit should be. The infusion is equally the clear nectar of the fruit and blended perfectly without altering the original color.

|| COST ||

Three Olives’ brands do not run cheap especially for the 750ml bottle which ran us about $21.oo with state tax from the local liquor establishment.
|| DESIGN ||

A tall sleek bottle that is made of both translucent and transparent glass that has the frosted feel and look to it. The precious fluid inside is seen through so it is transparent and again, clear. A shape of a martini glass is etched on the bottle using a clear transparent applique. ‘Mango’ is in yellow lettering at the top of the glass.

ThreeOlives is one word that flows from the lips as distinctly as the liquid therein does. The back of the bottle has not a hand-painted pile of mangoes but rather an applique that is fused onto the glass becoming non-removable.

|| DIRECTIONS ||

As with all alcoholic beverages, drink them with caution, Three Olives Vodka Mango is no exception. Pour one shot glass over ice or just throw back if you must. You can add Peach nectar, Mango nectar, Orange Juice (although that combo tastes funny) or even lemonade, if ya want.

Served well-chilled (keep it in your freezer as it SHOULD NOT freeze if there is really 35% alcohol in there as it states. And there is folks, this don’t freeze . . .

|| DOSAGE ||

We don’t use alcohol as a medicine now do we individuals of the human race but should you find the need to self-medicate for one night and think the problems won’t loom at ya the next morning-- a dose is a large shot !

|| ELIMINATION ||

Folks who suffer from gout episodes won’t have much to worry with this as this spirit is clear and leaves no dye-ing residue behind. It flushes easy because the grain is processed easy. This one is a kind of fun section because I can discuss what you put into body must come out and how. But no grotesque visualizations here folks, the clear stuff stays clear all the way through. Three Olives Vodka Mango does not attach to skin but might attach to cells . . . I am kidding c’mon its alcohol not turpentine. I assure you ladies and gents, your urine will not change color on the way out.

|| HISTORY ||

In 1998 this company was born offering the most supreme vodka and since has been experimenting with several flavors. The line is many and the possibilities of taste-explosions endless, but one thing for sure ThreeOlives cares about its flavorful alcoholic experience.

In 2001 they launched Three-O cherry and grape. I much rather drink the Cherry with a splash of cranberry juice ! Today in 2010 they feature 17 different flavors and I have only tried four, liked one.

Vodka itself has three distinct areas of the world where this spirit is distilled with care: Russia, Lithuania and Poland and is classified as the standard vodka about 40% alcohol by volume equaling 80 proof.

|| INGREDIENTS ||

Imported English Vodka distilled from water and ethanol and any of these fermented substances: grain, rye, wheat, potatoes, rice or sugar beet molasses. This particular beverage is gluten, nut, wheat and lactose free while also categorized as a ‘vegan’ luxury.

|| NUTRITION FACTS ||

Oil of mango to prevent scurvy ? Heck there are really none in here.

|| SMELL ||

At first sniff, whew rubbing alcohol or so it seems and then in a very subtle way the mango scent wafts in the olfactory and sends some to an island paradise. Me, I just wonder where is the intense mango and juicy-fruit flavor I am supposed to deeply inhale ? Not as pungent as I would like, nor fruity !

|| TASTE ||

Well Three Olives Vodka Mango could be way more mangoey ! Because this stuff needs attention to flavorful detail if I am to really enjoy it. The lack of intense mango allows for the true distilled grain to be tasted in its entire complexity but I love fruit not alcohol . . .

|| USES ||

To be poured into a shot glass or a tumbler over ice or a tall glass with juice or nectar. I don’t recommend drinking through a straw unless you are expecting to get drunker faster . . .

|| WARNING ||

A government warning is added to the nice clear bottle in small black letters: “1) According to the Surgeon General Women should not drink alcoholic beverages during pregnancy because of the risk of birth defects. 2) Consumption of alcoholic beverages impairs your ability to drive a car or operate machinery, and may cause health problems.

|| FINAL NOTE ||

I often care little for extreme hard liquors and spirits but when I do I want them to taste really good and Three Olives Vodka Mango just did not cut it by itself. So sippers expect a kerosene sort of mango-flavored surprise and the rest of us will find something a little more palatable.

At 35% alcohol by volume, that is 70 proof and 750ml in one bottle, Three Olives Vodka Mango usually lasts me and me alone, 2-3 months but with help, a week or so.

Thank you for reading and

Enjoy !
