Pros:Huge variety of different sounds, suitable for any audience
Cons:Difficult to obtain as the band is not particularly famous yet
The Bottom Line: If you're a fan of 'Buffy' this is something you cannot be without. If you're not particularly interested in 'Buffy', this is still definitely worth buying.
Four Star Mary are a little known band, this is obvious from the fact that there are so few reviews of any of their albums, who have featured in both 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Party of Five.' These are two very famous and very popular shows, and neither would take on a band if it were not up to the job. Four Star Mary certainly proved themselves to be more than capable of providing the driving sounds of the fictitious 'Dingoes ate my Baby' in songs such as 'Pain', 'Dilate', and 'Never Mind'. All three of which are on the 'Thrown to the Wolves' album.
There are 10 tracks (or 12 on special copies) and not a single one of them lets the album down. The range of different types of sound is outstanding, from the powerful guitars and moving lyrics of 'Pain' to the relaxing sounds of 'Shadows', this is as complete a group of songs as a buyer is likely to find anywhere.
There is definitely something for everyone here, fans of heavier music would welcome this as a refreshing break, and fans of lighter music would certainly not be offended by anything to be found here.
The only problem is that if you are from the UK or anywhere outside the USA it is exceedingly difficult to find a copy (although HMV stores have recently started putting a few on the shelves.)
I look forward to the new album which will hopefully be out soon.
