We always walk away from Ti couz full, happy, and commenting on something new that has tantalized our taste buds.
Ti Couz is a bustling creperie that allows you to build your own meal from a list of ingredients either for a main course or a dessert. Starting from one basic ingredient, cheese for example, you add on a little of this and a little of that (such as silky smooth mushroom sauce, spicy sausage, or carmellized onions), until you have your perfect crepe. And dessert crepes work the same way. Beyond the basic menu there are always seasonal specials, such as grilled asparagus, a rich butternut squash soup, or various berries.
Unlike some similar restaurants, the non-crepe items are also delicious here. Soups and salads are always creative, fresh, and full of flavor. And they are served with a basket of crunchy, slightly sour, and nicely textured bread. The chocolate mouse is bittersweet, velvety smooth, and served with crisp cookies. And the cider selections are refreshing.
Another thing that's great about Ti Couz is that my husband and I can have a full and somewhat decadent meal with drinks for under $30 and feel as if we've been living it up. We frequently share a dinner crepe with soup or salad, have some cider or citronne presse, and share a dessert crepe with coffee. Our dessert last night, for Valentines Day, was transcendant: a strawberry crepe with chocolate and orange sauce, served with Chantilly cream and an expresso bean.
Minor downsides for us have been long waits for a table, particularly for Sunday brunch or on Saturday nights, uncomfortable seating in the bar area, a mediocre onion soup, and a frequently high noise factor. But overall, Ti Couz is a consistently great meal, always wows the friends and family that we bring with us, and is a wonderful value for the dollar. They've also recently expanded to three rooms from two, so the wait for tables should be somewhat abated...that is until you all read this and follow my lead.
