Becoming a worship leader is one of the achievements my youngest proclaims she’ll do when she is older. She says this will happen after she dances in New York. I am not certain where the idea of dancing on the other side of the United States arrived from, considering we have the Pacific Northwest Ballet close in proximity. But I do know that her adoration for singing, music, worship, and dance sparked the reasoning for worship leader aspiration. Add to this a desire to be a star and you soon realize her request for a karoake system was within understanding. One of the gifts she received for her 7th birthday was a Tiger Electronics Tiger Karaoke system. She was ecstatic and couldn’t wait to try out this system.
The unfortunate aspect of the gift wasn’t realized until the package was opened, unit pulled out, and inner-shipping buffers tossed. Please note that the Tiger Electronics Tiger Karaoke doesn’t accept tapes or CD’s. Your only way of obtaining additional music is via the Tiger Electronics site. Selection is large (approx. 1,000 choices and growing) but fails to include the Christian artists that my little girl wants to imitate. It was quickly evident this karaoke machine was more intended for the older crowd and was handed over to our 11 year old. Don’t misunderstand me the toy concept is good we just didn’t pay close attention to the box prior to our daughter removing it.
I do recommend Tiger Electronics Tiger Karaoke for children within the 9 – 16 age bracket who have Internet access and like mainstream music selections. The assortment of songs offered by Tiger is growing and most adolescents will easily find 40 songs that are desired. Just realize that this system doesn’t accept cassettes or CD’s and the site charges $1.99 per song. If all of those factors are okay then this toy unit is one that will impress with regard to the electronic components and capability.

This unit holds 40 MIDI instrumentals and lyrics that are downloaded via Internet access from Tiger Electronics. Artist selections vary from current popular such as 'N Sync to classics like Elton John. Six songs are included with initial purchase and you are able to download 2 at no charge. Additional songs are $1.99 per title. Sing along text scrolls, three-lines at a time, on the LCD screen located at the top of the Tiger Electronics Tiger Karaoke system allowing the system to be portable (once download is complete). This is a nice feature considering that some units require use of the TV for lyric viewing. The settings allow for tempo change, singing in 3-part harmony or duet, echo, and voice-transformation. The professional digital reverb allows for high quality output.

Accessing Additional Songs
In order to access additional songs you will need:

With the above mentioned you will be able to load the software, connect the karaoke machine to your home PC via USB port and then access additional songs via Tiger website - WWW.TIGERKARAOKE.COM. Using MasterCard, visa, or discover, you can purchase additional songs for $1.99 each. The artists available are listed alphabetically. After downloading you are able to rearrange order of songs contained within the Tiger Electronics Tiger Karaoke. The entire process is one that our 11-year-old is able to handle after her Father assisted her the first time but with the expenditure aspect you will be assisting your child. The site doesn’t hold your charge card information so you needn’t worry about your child revisiting and charging without your approval. They are able to look around and make selections.
