Messenger bags or shoulder-slung daypacks are becoming more common thanks to their utility and rugged durability. Most bags already have several pockets tucked inside for small items such as wallets or MP3 players. Cell phones however aren’t convenient when they’re buried inside a deep-bottom bag. Timbuk2 sells quite a few messenger and shoulder bags with large and prominent shoulder straps. One of the best accessories you can add to your bag is the Timbuk2 Cell Phone Holder.

----- Faster Fone Flinging -----

This little holder is very basic and comes in 5 different colors, custom colors aren’t available at this time. Sizes available are XS, S, M, and L. Be aware when ordering that displayed measurements on Timbuk2’s website are external measurements, not internal volume. The first case I ordered was 1" too short for my Nokia 6822 since I measured the phone and assumed the dimensions listed were interior.

The exterior of the case is constructed of durable ballistic nylon with a soft, plush lining inside. The sides of the case are stretchy elastic which squeezes your phone and grips it securely. The built-in clip attaches to shoulder straps, sternum straps, or your belt if you prefer. To attach to a belt you use the horizontal loop on the back of the vertical strap retaining loop. The top flap is fastened to the case body by about 2" of heavy-weave Velcro. This Velcro is super-grippy (at least so far) and shows no signs of wearing out anytime soon.

As a side note my size Small case could be easily used to hold an Apple iPod Nano or similar sized MP3 player. The Medium and Large cases can hold standard sized iPods and Video iPods if you want to take your music on the trail.

Whether or not you own Timbuk2 bags this is a useful addition for cell-phone dependant bikers, hikers, and city dwellers. The colors available allow you to satisfy almost any style, taste, or wardrobe.
