Pros: Loops for belts/armbands/messenger/backpacks, durable nylon fabric.
Cons: Vertical flaps, headphones slit not quite wide enough for all straps.
The Bottom Line: I currently like this case best for attaching to messenger bags/backpacks. However, I will still keep an eye out for a case that can actually fit over a strap.

What is it?
The Timbuk2 Accessory Case is not just for iPods, although they can be used with them. This allows people to carry their MP3 players and digital cameras with them while they are on the go!
At 4.25" x 2.75" x 1", its about the same in size as the GYSMPacific iPod Pocket. However, this case is made out of Ballistic Weave Nylon, whereas the Pocket is made out of Neoprene.
Features
The Timbuk2 case has a Velcro flap that allows the iPod to be slipped into the case fairly easily. There is a flat pocket in the front of the case under the flap. Handy for keeping ID cards or money.
The back of the case has 2 bands with openings horizontally for either the belt or armband. Divided by stitching, one allows the case to slip through the belt, which takes about 2/3 of the band. The bottom 1/3 I suppose is for the armband, or to allow a person to slip their fingers in to grip the case. There are also flaps with vertical openings that overlap one another, allowing the user to attach the Timbuk2 to messenger bag/backpack straps to keep music on the go.
Actual Usage
I really like the dual horizontal/vertical bands, which make the Timbuk2 case more versatile than the GYSMPacific case. Unfortunately, I the vertical flaps are just a little too short to accommodate my sling strap. I suppose the Timbuk2 case was made with the idea that the user would have a Timbuk2 messenger bag or backpack!
Although my 4G iPod fits very well in the case, it is not a completely snug fit. iPods can slip out if the user is not careful, as I found out. Always keep this case upright or be sure to keep your hand below the opening!
I like the fabric of the Timbuk2 case, as the Weave Nylon seems more durable and less likely to stain as opposed to the GYSM Neoprene.
My main problem with this case besides the incompatibility with my Jansport bag is the small slit for the headphones. I have to poke the headphone connectors, whether its the traditional type or the special iPod remote headphone into the iPod itself. Because the slit is so small, I occasionally poke the iPod, which will of course result in scratches.
Yet, until a better case is made, Im sticking with the Timbuk2 case.
Available in various colors including pink, black, grey, white, and navy blue
