Pros: Plenty of float for the knees, never an accidental release, well made.
Cons: Depending on your shoe these can be a little tough to click into at first.
The Bottom Line: The only reason it does not get 5 stars is due to it's weight.

| mshuey's Full Review: Time ATAC |
My review can almost be summed up in one sentence. "I can't believe I rode SPD's for so long, when I could have been riding the Time ATAC."
The only honest to goodness knock on these pedals is weight. But, I'm not a weight weenie and am a firm believer that if I want to shave weight off of my bike, there are better places to do it.
Here in the Pacific Northwest, mud is a big problem. Once your SPD type pedal is covered, clicking in is not such a big deal... but staying in is another issue. The Time ATAC's shed the mud and clicking in and staying in has never been an issue.
This pedal has awesome float... so if you have knee problems, this is a great pedal. Actually, it took me awhile to get used to all of the float compared to my old SPD's.
Engaging the cleat into the pedal takes a bit of time to get used to, but I love the very audible snapping sound that the pedal makes when you lock in. Because you have so much lateral float, you'll need to exagerate the "heel out" motion you make to disengage from the pedal.
The pedals are tough... I've banged them against rocks and logs with no problems at all. The wire (clip that holds the cleat) can eventually wear thin if used in muddy conditions. The clicking in and out grinds it down... but it would take a ton of wet weather riding to completely wear through.
I usually tell people wear out the part you want to upgrade before buying something new... but this is one upgrade you'll want to get right now.
