Pros: my daughter wanted and likes it
Cons: odd looking, doesn't do anything, hard to dress, cheap accessories
The Bottom Line: If I could throw it out without my daughter noticing I would. Kids may enjoy dressing up this silly dog but I'm not impressed.

| marytara's Full Review: Tini Puppini Plush Dog - Tutu |
Last year for my Christmas my daughter had a few wishes, and one was for Tini Puppini. Everytime she saw the commercial she went on and on about how she really wanted to get a "pretty dog". Now, mind you - my daughter has no lack of pretty puppy and kitty plush and interactive toys even. To be honest, I thought that Tini Puppini looked outright bizarre. Tini Puppini did not make the short list of things that Santa was bringing. Until about a week before Christmas it was marked down drastically at Wal-Mart (under $20 from a MSRP of $29.99). So, yeah - I caved and Santa brought my daughter the Tini Puppini "Tutu" dog - and she was thrilled.
About Tini Puppini There are 3 different Tini Puppini dogs - a tan one named Toffee, a Black/White named Tisha, and a Red/White named Tutu. We have Tutu. TuTu Tini Puppini is a reddish brown and white toy Shih Tzu - or at least that is what I believe she is supposed to be. Of the 3 pups, her style is described as "Funky, Free Spirit and Artsy". Our Tutu came dressed in a purple dress with a heartprint hairbow and purple platform heels. Each of the approximately 11" pups come dressed in a special outfit and come with starter accessories and there are a few new outfits so your pup may be dresssed differently.
The accessories include a tiara, nametag, earrings and necklace, and hairbrush). The suggested retail price is $29.99 (Ouch!) but most stores have marked them down to the $20 price point. I was lucky to get it even lower than that. Additional outfits and accessory packs are available for purchase ($9.99 each) as well as a pet bed/carrier ($20), and even a Spa/Salon ($15).
I can't believe we actually own this thing
Tini Puppini is intended to be a diva dog that little girls can dress up and tote around with them. The 11" dog comes with an outfit and accessories that you can take on and off as well as a little plastic hairbrush. The truth is that Tini Puppini is outright bizarre looking. It has gigantic eyes and a big head and then a little tiny waist - which is supposed to make it look "pretty". The dog kind of reminds me of the inappropriate Bratz dolls that I have resisted letting my daughter play with. I am certain that the intention behind the Tini Puppini's was for them to look "pretty and sexy". This is totally unnecessary and a big turn off to me as a parent for a kids toy. I'd really rather not that my daughter play with toys that are "trashy" and for that reason I cannot believe I actually bought this stupid dog.
My 5 year old really does like her Fashion Pup but she doesn't play with it all that much. The accessories are cheap very low quality plastic with that fake metallic paint on them (Made in China) and they are hard to manipulate. The earrings don't stay on and the Tiara is hard to put in. The plastic brush really doesn't do anything other than serve for pretend play because you can't run it through the faux (synthetic) fur. My daughter has a hard time getting the platform shoes onto the dogs feet and once they are on - they don't do a good job of staying on. The dress is the nicest part of the outfit and cute to take on and off (it has an easy to use a velcro closure) - though it is difficult to tell the front from the back and I am sure our dog probably wears it backwards most of the time, not like it really matters.
What Tini Puppini boils down to is an over-priced freakish looking dog that is slightly posable and comes with assorted low quality accessories that are bound to get lost. While my daughter enjoys playing with her "Fashion Pup" as she calls it, this was not one of my better purchases. If I could do-over I would have walked right past it even though it was on-sale.
