| joolzie's Full Review: Tiny Love Symphony in Motion - Animals |
I have to admit, I was charmed by this mobile the instant I saw it. Consequently, I never took the time to look at others and thus have no basis for comparison. On the other hand, I've had no reason to want to purchase a different mobile, so it must be doing something right.
The first things to catch my attention were the animals. They're brightly colored and absolutely adorable -- so adorable, in fact, I've seen that they can be purchased separately as individual toys. Each of the three animals is attached to a flared cone with a black & white swirl, ensuring that the baby will enjoy it not only during her first six weeks, but all the way up until it needs to be taken down. It is then attached to a curved hanger with little doo-dads on it; doo-dads that slide and clack, capturing baby's attention when she's laid down. There are three musical selections -- Mozart, Bach and Beethoven -- which can be either be played individually or one after the other. There are two volume settings, though fortunately neither of them is very loud. Our daughter's crib is in our bedroom, and with the lower setting, we can still hear the music when we're in bed, but it doesn't interfere with our sleep. Of course, at this point, I don't think anything aside from a crying baby could. :)
Our daughter didn't really care about the mobile until she was about four weeks -- prior to that, she was more interested in being held. She's seven weeks now, and it generally keeps her happy for about 15-20 minutes. I'm not sure if mobiles are supposed to put babies to sleep or not; if so, well, this one fails to for our daughter. Typically we lay her down in her crib with the mobile if, post-feeding and diaper change, she's still all bright eyed. It gives me enough time to wash my hands and deal with whatever post-change things need to be dealt with.
I can't tell you if this is any better than any other mobile on the market, but both my daughter and I like it.
