| UCturboBoii's Full Review: Titan Silver Scooter |
Razor scooters are the hottest toys from kids to adults, today. Yet, there are other popular scooters like Slider. Then there is Titan. Titan scooters are like the original Razors. One fact is that Titans are sold cheaper than the Razors. Nevertheless, Titans and Razors are the same.
The pros
Titan scooters work very well with busy city streets. They are foldable and the handlebars are detachable. When a person needs to travel from one block to another or from one school campus to another, the Titan scooter is perfect. No need to find a spot and lock up. Because all stainless steel scooter folds up the user will make sure that it belongs at a safe place. Inside college dorms, the Titan scooters will fit under a bed or inside a closet.
The ride is fun on smooth surfaces and sidewalks. Users going downhill will enjoy “gliding” on wheels. It only takes a few try to learn the balance required for a safe ride. It is same as riding the classic scooters on large rubber tires. “Rubberized” plastic wheels are used. They are slightly larger than roller blade wheels. The brakes are located at the rear wheel. All the user has to do is rest his foot on a lever. The lever pushes down on the wheel. As a result, the wheels spins slower and slower as heat is given off.
The wheel tends to wear out. Luckily, replacements are easy to get as visiting the local toy store. Some wheels come with different colors. Red, blue, green, and many colors of wheels are available. Some wheels flashes. By utilizing centrifugal force, the wheel’s LED lights pulse as the wheel spins faster. For $70 a red glow light attaches to the bottom of the plate. This gives the scooter a custom look that is guaranteed to make heads turn. The glow light also make bikers and drivers, in cars, to see the scooter. As a result the number of accidents is minimized.
The Cons
A great looking product is bound to have troubles that never seem possible. Among one of the biggest problem with the new scooters are the small wheels. Some users will fall off their scooter when they hit a small pothole, at slow speeds. At high speeds, sharp turns are not feasible. Scooters do not have ABS and users going too fast are bound to fall unless they make gentle turns. Without the glow lights, it is difficult for motorists to see kids or adults on scooters. While bicycles has reflectors, scooters don’t.
Recommended for
Kids, college students, and adults. Kids will love riding their scooters from their house to their school. College students will have the peace of mind bikers want. Users who want the option to customize their scooter will also be happy. Adults who work at large facilities will enjoy”gliding” than walking. For short distances, there is no problem to get a Titan.
Not Recommended for
Long distance trips. If a user has to travel over a mile, it is not a great idea to use a scooter. Most users have complained of footaches and their ankles getting fatigue. Even worse going uphill is almost impossible. What is behind all the misery? Small wheels. More ‘scooting” is required because of small wheels. It is recommended that the user walk uphill and scoot on leveled surfaces or gently slopes.
For the kids, a scooter is a great present. At $70-$80, the Titan is a more inexpensive alternative to the Razor. If possible, a Razor should be bought because of the carrying strap and better quality materials used. Some Razors come equipped with a pair of mini shock absorbing springs and a “brake handle” that makes braking easier. Nevertheless the Titan is same as a razor, but cheaper!
