| supersaiyan23's Full Review: Titleist DCI 962 Irons |
Titleist has once again done a great job with its DCI 962 irons. These irons come in 3 different versions, the 962, 962A and 962B. The A and B models offer less of a cavity back and should only be played by low handicap golfers who are excellent ball strikers with their irons.
The 962 offers 4 different shaft options, regular flex steel, stiff steel, regular flex graphite and stiff graphite. These irons combine cavity back forgiveness with the precision of a blade. This allows the player to have just the right amount of forgiveness and precision. I recommend these clubs for the low handicap golfer only. One reason being they are very hard to hit seeing as there is less of a cavity back. The less of a cavity back you have, the more unforgiving the club is on off center hits. The lessening of the cavity makes the sweet spot smaller, which allows for a greater reward the better you hit the ball.
You can put a ton of spin on the ball with the shorter irons in this set. The longer irons are a bit more difficult to hit then as with the normal DCI's and other brands of cavity back irons. These clubs run about the same as any other set of quality irons, depending on what type of shaft you get in them. Graphite can add 400 to 500 dollars more on to the cost. For the low handicap golfer seeking a solid club with more shot making abilities this is the club for you.
