I no longer struggle from the fairway as I once did. I bought a Titleist DCI 962 2-iron, and have found that my long fairway game has improved considerably. I have found the DCI 962 to be a smooth swing, and make clean contact out of the fairway as well as off the tee.
I think this club is more forgiving than my old Wilson's, having not sliced the ball as badly as I had been with my regular set of irons. I plan on buying a new complete set of 3-W, and am strongly considering the DCI 962's. They are a little expensive, but you get what you will get your monies worth. I probably use my 2-iron about 6 or 7 times per round, sometimes as a trouble club for under trees, low trajectory bump and runs, and some low punches under trees. I am now more likely to pull it out instead of a 7-wood for some trouble shots.
The Titleist DCI 962 2-iron has proven to be a solid, accurate club as well as a very versatile, situational club. To me, it is a time proven asset to my golf bag.
