Cons: Very inaccurate, stopped working after 3 days, robbed by Circuit City.
The Bottom Line: I use GPS when I travel, they can be useful but I think they need to get better and cheaper than they are right now. TomTom & Circuit City disappoint.
nixjag's Full Review: TomTom GO 510 Car GPS Receiver
I've been waiting for a while for the GO 510, as I wanted the Bluetooth feature. After picking it up from Circuit City, I took it home and downloaded all available updates to make sure it was up to speed. First thing I noticed is that the 510 does not take you the quickest or shortest route, just the easiest one for it to find. The software didn't even have the bridge between PA and NJ at Riegelsville on it, and the bridge had it's 100th birthday last year, so its been around a while. If I hadn't known better, it would have sent me about 30 miles out of my way. Then this morning, the 4 day old unit just refused to power up. No reason, it was docked in the car and wouldn't turn on. Of course I immediately went to Circuit City to return the unit and they charged me an $81 restocking fee as I had zero interest in replacing it with another 510 that would get me lost most of the time. The Tom Tom was a complete let down, and I will never buy as much as a battery again from Circuit City, and I do like buying electronics. I lost $81, they lost more, but of course their pockets are deeper and they don't give a crap.
