skippycowboy's Full Review: Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell for PlayStation 2
You start out the game as Agent Sam Fisher. But what sucks is that you have to do a walkthrough or a training level . It sounds fun at first but if you just restarted it and it's your 40th time doing these mini missions you'll get mad. After this you'll fun will climb.
In the first mission you basically just get a feel for the game . You dont do much shooting or sneaking around but you find out how to slide from roof to roof and how to climb across fire basically.
Pros:::::::::
--- Fiber wire- basically it's just a cord of some sort but used to strangle victims without using precious ammo. Best when only one enemy is in the room. Also best to use if it's dark or he's not facing you.
--- Graphics- Repelling from a wall is one of the best examples of the graphics in this game. The graphics actually make you feel like you have the fate of the world on your shoulders. The enemies dont just pace around like in other games in a boring pattern. The henchmen actually sit and stay busy , whether it be by reading porn or watching t.v.
---Gadgets- I have already mentioned the fiber wire but many more items can be found. The best gadget really are the night vision goggles. You spend alot of the game in stealth , hiding in dark alley ways . But to see your target the goggles are needed. The goggles are at a good setting also unlike on other games.

Reality:::: You shoot a guy on accident and run into the alley. You better believe he's not gonna chase ya. This is what the game lacks , REALITY. Not many games have this reality factor but newer games should. If you shoot the wall it should at least chip. Or the windows in the city should shatter if a grenade is tossed at it. This isn't a big con but it would be a better game if it wasnt so.
Difficulty::::::: The whole game is pretty easy IF YOU KNOW ALL OF THE CONTROLS. Thats where they get you. "I didn't even know I could shimmy up walls like that." But you will spend alot of time wondering where to go. Alot of hidden ways to get places.
Controls::::::: Main reason I hate action games on PS2 is the controls. You have to aim with the analog stick while walking with the d-pad and somehow stretching your finger to the button to shoot. Sucks. Plus, the analog sticks are extremely sensitive.
Re-play Factor::::: Play it once you'll never want to play it again. The story won't change at all. Maybe years down the road you'll be interested in trying to beat it but other than that .........

You are Sam Fisher out to save the world from international terrorism. We've heard this story over and over again. It really gets old.
