I always use a solid, mineral salt crystal after bathing and before applying a deodorant.  Being I am so impressed with the odor control of Tom’s of Maine Unscented Deodorant, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that Tom’s of Maine offered a Crystal deodorant!  Upon receiving the product, it was to my demise that it was not a solid crystal, but a crystal liquid deodorant instead!
 
Description:

Tom’s of Maine Deodorant Crystal Fragrance Free contains the same ingredients as a mineral salt, solid crystal, according to a customer service representative.  It contains the same active ingredient of potassium alum.  I was concerned with the aluminum content, but he assured me that there are only trace amounts of aluminum to prohibit the company labeling the product as “aluminum free.”

The 2.4 oz. bottle of the crystal deodorant is cloudy white in color, but the bottle is see-through so the amount of deodorant is always visible.  The deodorant is clear in color and is fragrance free. 

When the twist-off cap is removed from the bottle, you will see a roller which works the same as a roll-on deodorant.  The back label on the bottle states the deodorant is clinically proven for 24 hour odor protection and I can attest to this fact. 

My Experience:

I have never cared for a roll-on deodorant due to its stickiness.  This crystal deodorant is not as sticky as other roll-on deodorants I have tried, but is still more sticky than I prefer.
 
After applying Tom’s of Maine Deodorant Crystal Fragrance Free to my underarms, it took approximately an hour for the deodorant to dry.  I imagine if I kept my arms out at my sides, it would have dried more quickly, but who wants to do this?

My Take:

I am disappointed that Tom’s of Maine does not offer a solid mineral salt crystal, for I really like their products and feel safe when using them.  However, the crystal liquid deodorant is not for me.  The deodorant lived up to the claim of keeping me odor-free for 24 hours; however, I will not purchase this product again due to the drying time.  I will rate this product as 4 stars for those who prefer a roll-on deodorant.
