I know Ton Kiang is a lot of people's favorite restaurant, but I just don't see it. I've been there several times, and every time I leave, I feel like I could have gotten a better meal somewhere else. They don't have a lot of food for the price. We usually have to order 2 of everything because they offer so little. The service is okay -- pretty much the same anywhere else. If you do end up going to Ton Kiang, I recommend the crab. Although it will mostly likely be a small crab, it's still worth the experience. It's usually very busy when I go there, so I recommend making reservations before coming, but it's still possible to get seats. Sunday brunch, Friday and Saturday nights are usually the busiest. If you want to try a really great Chinese Mandarin cuisine, try San Wang restaurant in Japantown. It's a great place to catch a movie and then have dinner afterwards. The price is extremeley fair and they give you lots of food. The head chef there has gotten recognition from the media and even appeared in Yang Can Cook. Just a suggestion for those who are looking for great Chinese cuisine.
