| thebrit100's Full Review: Tool Dock Mobile Station 22151 |
I was lucky enough to find this unit on sale at Rural king for half price in a clearance sale. I purchased it together with the tool rack.
The unit weighs 107 lbs and stands 37 inches tall with a work surface 30 wide by 28 deep. This unit has two built in plastic draws and a built in dust collection tray. There are two types of work surface available a plain insert and a sanding insert with holes. You can then hook the unit up to your shop vac or dust collection system and control dust, The unit comes with casters with two positions, they are somewhat fiddly to move from one to the other.
The work surface is at a good height, i use mine with a plain insert as an additional workbench. The dust collection feature is reasonably effective some dust still escapes, i still prefer to use a dust hood as well.
The inserts are tricky to remove when you havnt got anything mounted to them. I attached a simple $2 handle to them in one corner which solves the problem. and doesnt interfere too badly with the work surface.
The unit is well constructed and rugged, welds are of high quality and the paint finish good. The storage space under the unit is valuable and the drawers useful although limited in capacity, you wouldnt want to fill them with heavy items, but for consumables for the tools used on the unit they are acceptable.
If you have a small shop in a garage or basement and are limited for space this system is for you, although the units are heavy and would be tough to get into the average basement.
I would like to see an electric outlet unit available as an option which would include a light and power outlets with a GFCI which could be mounted directly to the station. Maybe they will bring on out later.
