Terrible TV by equally terrible manufacture

Pros:
Thanks god for the extended store warrantee
Cons: I wouldn't buy any Toshiba product ever.
The Bottom Line: Learn from me, I paid $3000 for this and after 2 years is not working at all. And Toshiba expects me to go out and buy another one.

With everyone who got the HDTV fever, I went out and purchased this TV for $3000(plus $1000 for sound system, $500 for the stand and $200 for cables and $80 for cable with the HD Channels every month) in 2005, it worked beautifully for 6 months, but after 2 years later (3 repairs, 1 motor changed, 1 light bulb changed in between)and much aggravation later, it stopped working all together. The TV won't even turn on anymore. When I called the Toshiba, they are annoyed that I called because it's 2 years old and they won't stand by their product and they said there is nothing they can do about it since it was out of the manufacture warrantee. I understand that is out of manufacture warrantee but where is any decency on standing by the product reputation? So I asked if there is anything I can do to get this TV working, they simply said, take it to any expert and if it doesn't work, get another one. My 22" Panasonic TV I bought with $200 back in 1994 still works. And here I am stuck with the TV I spent almost $5000 for just sit in our living room, not working only after 2 years.
Thanks god for the extended store warrantee I bought for 4 years, they tried to repair the TV and changed every part that they can, it still doesn't work. The latest verdict was the Transformer went bad. The store ordered the part from Toshiba and they came back to the store with they don't have any part and the parts are in the back order for 2 1/2 months. Much to my amazement, per the store, I am not the only one who have this particular issue, other 10 customers who bought this model as well. So why the parts are in back order for 2 1/2 months I don't understand. Because I called everyone in the store and talked to them very persistently, I was told they will do the nationwide search and after a week, it came back they can't find the part and the Store got sick and tired of me calling them everyday by that time, they agreed to replace this TV with another TV, Samsung.
I am not a TV addict, I am a very busy career woman, but for the money I spent, I should have a TV that works every time I want to turn it on. That is a consumer right. I don't need the product that doesnt work after only 2 years and manufacture warrantee or not, Toshiba should have some decency to stand by their product and their reputation.
I learn my lesson with them. For Toshiba not standing by their products, I will never buy any Toshiba product as long as I live and I will tell every one in my family to stay away. I am also involved in making the decision at my company to purchase the hardware, you can bet that none of the electronic anyone I know purchase will not be "Toshiba".
