Pros: Picture quality, sound quality, user interface, sleek design, online capabilities.

Cons: Initial powering on of the system is slow (about 20 seconds).

The Bottom Line: Great value and amazing quality. I am still very confident that HD-DVD with it's plethora of online advatages, identical quality and cheaper prices will win over Blue-ray.

If your looking for a great way to enter the HD-DVD realm without the high price tag then this is the player for you.

I purchased mine on 12-7-2007 at Walmart. I paid $199 for the player plus got 5 in store movies for free and the usual 5 by mail. So the player and 10 movies for $199 is a pretty good darn deal.

This player is everything you would expect from an HD-DVD player. It has all the functionality of higher priced players at half the price. My only and I do say "ONLY" complaint with this player is the initial powering on. It take a good 20 seconds before it's powered up and ready to accept your commands. And it's only when powering on. Once on the player is as fast as any other player.

This player plays up to 1080i which is perfect if you don't have an HDMI capable TV or have a TV thats 40in or smaller where you won't see too much of a quality difference between that and 1080p. Audio is every bit as good as the picture in quality.

I highly recommend this player especially with the current incentives to buy.
