I love to cook and watch movies at the same time. So my husband gave me this TV/VCR combo for Christmas. We went for the combo because then we don't have a TV and VCR taking up space in the kitchen. This fits nicely on the counter.
This TV/VCR has all your typical features; recording programs, timer, auto clock, playback, and a V-chip. The V-chip will block programs that are undesirable from children in your home. There are very good directions in the manual that explain how to set the V-chip, you just a choose a password, and the ratings that you want blocked. This only works with movies, and television programs that are rated with that new TV rating system. It also has a one-touch record, so that if you are in a hurry you can just hit the RECORD button for the amount of hours you want to record.
There are a few cons, to this purchase. First the sound, my husband noticed it right away and said that it sounded like a radio. I had to turn the volume up all the to be able to hear it above the microwave and the kids. Also, it did not come with an antenna. I was disappointed to find that you can not watch a program one channel and record on a different channel at the same time. So if my husband wants me to record his basketball game for him, and I want to watch TV, I will have to watch the game.
This TV will work for the purpose that it was bought for, so that I could watch TV of movies while cooking, but I wish that there would have been a little more shopping around for TV/VCR combo with more features.
