| tiffer0220's Full Review: Toy Biz World Wide The Hulk: Electronic Hulk Hands |
Growing up, I was a huge Incredible Hulk fan. Not of the comics, but of the series that featured Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno as the Hulk. My younger brother was a big fan also and he had all of the Hulk toys that came out in the 80's. If only he still had those toys....ah well. When my brother and I went out shopping for my 5 year olds birthday we saw the Electronic Hulk Hands and right away my 25 year old brother ran over to play with them. Just so happens one package was opened so we each got to play with one hand and actually try them out before purchasing them.
At first, my brother wanted to buy 2 sets of the Hulk Hands so that each of my kids could have a pair. But knowing how my kids act, they would just use the Hulk Hands as boxing gloves instead of just playing with them. So my little guy received the Hulk Hands and my oldest received a few sets of Yu-gi-oh cards instead. Now they each wear one of the hands and box with one hand, at least it's better than boxing with 2 hands.
Electronic Hulk Hands
The electronic Hulk Hands are huge in size as if these were Lou Ferrigno's hands. The hands are about 10 inches high and about 6 inches wide. The hands are in the shape of a fist and the hands are made out of a some sort of styrofoam plastic material that is very soft but doesn't peel or break off like styrofoam does.
The whole hand is soft with the exception of where there is a hard plastic bar inside the hand for the person wearing the hands to be able to hold on to in order to keep the hands on their hand. The bottom of the hand there is a battery cover that is also made from hard plastic, but if you have the hands on correctly, then noone will get hit with the battery cover.
The bar inside the hand is small enough for my 5 year old to be able to grab on to it and keep the hands on and still enough room for adults to be able to wear the hands correctly.
Like I said, the hands are in shape of a fist and they are very detailed showing veins bulging all around the hands, and even the 1 inch finger nails are detailed. In fact they are so detailed, I think the finger nails should be painted purple like the Hulks nails were painted, but my brother wouldn't allow me to apply nail polish to my sons toy.
Hulk Smash
When the hands hit something, or even if you gently smack the hands, they start making Hulk sounds. There isn't a lot of sounds, but when you keep hitting the hands together or hitting whatever, it will just keep going and going, making it fun or annoying, however you see fit. The hands will make a growling noise like the Hulk does, you will also hear "Hulk Smash" and also a few different smashing noises. Each hand makes noise so most likely you will hear 2 different things at once.
Highly Recommend
I happen to love these Electronic Hulk Hands and try to play with them with my kids whenever they let me have a hand or two. My brother, my husband and my self had a blast beating each other up with the hands. It didn't hurt getting hit with the hands, but like everything else, if you hit someone hard enough, it can hurt, or if you hit someone in the face with these it will probably hurt.
I was pleasantly surprised to see how well they made these hands. I figured they'd fall off of my sons hands but it was good thinking on the makers part to add that bar inside so that kids and adults can hold the hands on.
If you were a Hulk fan from the 80's, you would most likely enjoy these hands. If your kids are or are not Hulk fans, they will still probably get a kick out of playing with these hands. I know my son does, and he has no idea who the Hulk was or is.
