Sara
Here I am over 7 months late answering your comment.
I am still on the tea as you know as I put my review on it on facebook. This tea also helps fight the flu and for me, it wards it off.
Bigelow Green Tea is a good flu fighter also. remember, "take tea and see" (remember that commercial?)
Also remember, no milk, cream or sugar, just plain hot tea.
Smiles to you also. :)
My Best...

I would probably actually like the taste of this tea. I don't have GERD, but I hear that ginger is good for quite a number of things. I'll be checking this out...
Smiles!

Hi Carol, I am sorry, I just now saw your response. I guess the comment alert didn't get to me. Although it usually does alert me.
Thank you for your nice response, I feel so bad for you having such a hard time with the GERD, I have acid reflux also, and have to be careful about what I eat. But again, I admire you, because I doubt I could continue with a medicinal tea, even if it were helping, if it were so disgusting. But we do what we must do, and we are amazed at what we can do, when we must.
I would have to stand on the promise God gives us, "I will never give you more than you can bear" of course we can be very surprised at what we can actually bear. Sometimes I say to God, "REALLY?" "SERIOUSLY?" But I have to say, "He had NEVER given me something I couldn't get through, with His Grace." I am amazed that He puts up with me sometimes, because I am like a little kid, whining at times.. but "His love is everlasting, and His patience, is endless"... We are so Blessed to have such a loving God.
There I go again, getting carried away. I really wish you well, Carol, and I pray for your stomach to feel better, so you don't have to keep taking that tea. But if that is the worse thing you have to do, I suppose it is better than the alternative, of being in the hospital and taking all that awful medicine.
My compassion and love are with you, my friend. take care, and God Bless you. thanks for a great review.
Big Smiles for you, and (((gentle hugs))) sara

Hi Sara~
No, I never acquired the taste for this tea. It is still very disgusting in taste. However, it does help A LOT and I am off the prescription pills which cost me a fortune.
I am very grateful this tea is out on the market. I now boil up water in a cup in the microwave at night, put the teabag in, cover the top of the cup with aluminum foil and let the tea seep. I have been using a teabag TWICE. I use a used teabag and a fresh teabag. I put a little tear in the used teabag so I can throw it away when the tea is gone and do that with the new teabag also after I use it once.
GERD is a very serious problem with me. I absolutely can no longer eat rice as that sticks to the esophagus and makes me think I'm a goner as the nauseated feeling is overwhelming. This happens with some other foods also. However, like I said, this ginger tea works for me and is a blessing that I always will be grateful for.
I had my first esophagus problem at 21 years of age. I had attacks of it through the years but now it's getting worse with age. The tea does help a alot and I will never give it up.
Thank you for your comment.
Oh and I drink gingerale sometimes and also eat ginger candy. Both are helpful but never as helpful as this ginger tea.
Have a great Easter Sara! and thank for the comment.
My Best...

I can't say that I could drink the tea, whether it helped or not, if I couldn't stand the taste. Because if the taste is that bad, that would make me sick to my stomach, just the idea of drinking it.
I would HOPE I could continue the tea, if I absolutely needed it, like you, but I really can't guarantee it.
I guess I am a big baby when it comes to things like that.
I am glad it helps you, and I was wondering if after a time of drinking it, have you acquired a taste for it, like they say for a good wine, "You need to acquire a taste for it"?
Thanks for the review, actually I love ginger root cooked into food, like you would cook onions and garlic. I wonder how close the taste of the tea is to the taste of the ginger root?
Have a Happy Day, sara

You are welcome Karen. I am sure you didn't let it steep enough.
I even boil a cup of water in the microwave at night. Then I slip the tea bag in and cover it with aluminum foil. I then take a few sips of the tea and it relaxes my digestive system. I take it upstairs and put it in the bathroom in case I need it during the night. Very rarely have I needed it.
I am still off the Protonic GERD medication because I use this ginger tea instead.
The longer you let it settle, the stronger the taste.
Another thing I want to bring up is I hope you are not buying the tea that says Traditional Medicinals ORGANIC GINGER TEA. That is extremely weak and even if you leave the teabag in a long time it never gives the full effect.
The box MUST say Traditional Medicinals ORGANIC GINGER AID. That word "AID" is after the word "Ginger"
I know there was a sale one day in a Shaw's supermarket here where I reached for the Organic Ginger tea and bought 3 of them because the price was so cheap. I got home, made the tea and found it not working. It was a mild yellowish color, so unlike the ORGANIC GINGER AID.
I took the other boxes back and the manager pointed out I reached for the wrong tea. I did not know there were 2 kinds of Organic Ginger teas.
Like I mentioned, you have to get Organic Ginger AID.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.
Let me know what kind of tea you bought and used. Both teas are made from the same company.
My Best...

..tea the other day. I tried it and thought the ginger taste was too mild. I am going to have another cup and steep it longer, as well as squeeze the tea bag.
I'm glad to know it does what it's supposed to do! I am looking at a few other teas from this line that I want to try.
Thanks for the thorough review. :)

I take this tea all the time and it is a lifesaver for me. I do not need medication for the Gerd anymore as long as I take this tea.
Sorry it took me so long to respond to your comment. Epinions has my old email address to alert me of any comments and somehow just doesn't want to send them to my new address no matter how many times I tell them.
Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.

But I'm not sure what is worse - the Gurd or the taste of this tea! Ugh! I feel for you. I will have to give this a try if I ever get an acid stomach - Thanks!

Cancer Treatment & Ginger Aid Tea (Reply to this comment)
by boneymaroney
I used organic ginger aid tea to prevent nausea while going through 16 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation breast cancer treatments. I had a very aggressive cancer that had spread to my lymphnodes. I would drink one cup of ginger aid tea before treatment and one afterwards if I fealt a little nauseous. I never had one bout of nausea and never had to take any medication for nausea while going through treatments. I was advised by my chemo nurse not to drink coffee and to stay hydrated and suck on ginger for nausea. I did not drink any coffee during my treatments and drank at least 64 ounces of water @ day. Staying hydrated and the ginger in the tea prevented the nausea that usually comes with chemotherapy. The Ginger Aid Tea was worth its weight in gold while going through the treatments. I still drink two cups of Ginger Aid Tea @ morning to start my day.
