I recently stayed at the Travelodge in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. I chose the motel because of its location in the historic area. The motel is located off of two major roads, and is within walking distance of cemetery, museum, and information center. I also liked that the motel provided plenty of free parking as parking can be hard to find in the busy tourist season.
I was warmly welcomed when I entered the lobby and was allowed to leave my car in the parking lot for the day before I could check in. They gave me a ticket to place on the dash board of my car.
When I returned at check in time, I was given my room and about 30 minutes later received a phone call from the front desk to see if everything had met my satisfaction.
My room was in the back on the first floor. During the day, there was noise from the traffic and people walking by but by night there wasn't very much outside noise.
My room was well lit with a light at a desk, a floor lamp, and overhead lights. There was also a switch at the bed which was nice. The room design was on the small side but had a large bathroom. The room had two double beds, a dresser, a nightstand with an alarm clock, a desk and chair, a safe, a coffeepot, a large mirror, and provided the amenities of shampoo and soap.
The television in the room was about 20 inches with a theatrevision screen. The television stations available were those such as CNN, Fox News, and the Weather Channel. There were about 20 stations all together.
A free breakfast was offered in the mornings from 6am-10am. I did not go to the breakfast so I cannot comment on the quality of it.
When I checked in, I was told that the front desk was staffed 24 hours a day. However, when I went to check out there was no one at the desk.
The room was clean and secure so it met my needs and I would stay there again if I visit Gettysburg again. I would recommend this hotel to others looking for a room in a convenient location.
