Good Place For A Good Rate Close to The Strip & Downtown.

Written: Aug 24 '05 (Updated Aug 24 '05)
Pros:Cheap Rates, Close to Downtown & The Strip, Lots Of On-Site Amenities. & Clean Rooms.
Cons:Lack Of Adequate Security At Night & Sub-Par Staff.
The Bottom Line: Despite the mixed bag reputation of Travelodge, I'd easily recommend this place for someone going to Las Vegas to look into.

I stayed here in October of 2002 on a week-long trip to Las Vegas. It is very close to downtown, the Strip, several casinos, & shopping centers in Las Vegas. It boasts 58 rooms with a great view of the downtown area & the typical room fares here are between $80-$120, though the price range is $45-$260 according to the print directory.
I arrived at the hotel around 2 pm, I waited a few minutes to get checked in & the staff was helpful, but seemed a tad incompetent & like they'd rather be gambling than there now. The room is spacious, clean, & well-made when I arrived to it, it boasts 2 queen beds, cable TV, free HBO, local calls, & on-site pool, restaurant, & lounge.
The hotel's restaurant was very good, but nothing special, same with the lounge. The pool was very good, clean-looking, & very safe looking. I went swimming a few times there. The rules were no lifeguard on-duty, no swimming at night, & no diving.
Besides the lackluster staff, the lack of security at night was the biggest con of the place, just a deadbolt lock & gate that looked like it needed some work on. Overall, though, it was a very good place to stay & I'd gladly go back to there a second time again.
