Pros: FAST, LIGHT, nice handlebar shifters
Cons: The SEAT (ouch!), lack of color selection and 25 mm tires instead of 23's
The Bottom Line: Fast, fun and all around good bike for quick commutes to work or weekend cruises with minimum luggage.

Think stock 2-seater sports car: Not true race quality & not really everyday workhorse; but quick, good looking and FUN!
I've only had it one month and so far so good. It has a lighter, more responsive feel compared to the 1989 Schwinn Le Tour Ive been riding for years - like riding a beam of light by comparison. I can easily pick it up with three fingers.
Right now, I'm using it for fair weather commutes to work (20 miles R.T.) and in the past month have put 80 to 100 miles on it.
Although it does have eyelets in the back
I would not load this down with much more than a daypack and a water bottle.
The seat definitely had to go...switched out to a Terri Liberator. I also switched the pedals to clipless first thing. I think that it would not have been all that much for Trek to include clipless for the price theyre asking.
I am not too impressed with the front shift to the largest chain ring...it takes some persuading, but I'm confident that this is more due to the initial break in period than anything else. (I hope...)
The back shift requires a VERY light touch to shift.. easy to jump more than one cog.
Good stability on fast downhills. Rims can take some road abuse...potholes.
It retails in this area for about $1,100 but I think $800 would be more realistic.
