Background
My husband and I actually came across this fabulous restaurant by pure luck. When I first moved up here from NYC, we took a lot of random drives around the area just to see what we would find. During one of these drives, we were fortunate enough, and hungry enough, to stumble upon and try Tremonte. Unfortunately, we had done so many of these little road trips that neither of us actually remembered where this restaurant was located.
Fast-forward to earlier this year when we moved to Burlington. Once again, we were driving around the area to get the lay of the land and we found ourselves in Woburn. Of course, we both thought the area looked familiar, and then when we saw Tremonte, we knew we had been here before. Needless to say, we have been to the restaurant several times since.

The Restaurant
The restaurant is located on main street in Woburn and is very easy to get to (with the possible exception of that scary, somewhat confusing intersection you have to go through). You are on 95/128, you get off of the Winn street exit and head toward Woburn and BAM, the road ends and you are in the center of town. You just need to navigate the scary intersection to get yourself onto main street.
Unfortunately and/or fortunately (depends on how you look at it), it is a small restaurant, so you could easily drive by it. Also, it can get crowded, so if you absolutely have to eat at a certain time and/or do not want to wait, they do take reservations.
The décor is pretty basic, but still classy. Something we found a bit odd, you can tell that it used to be part of a Woolworths (check out the ground in the front of the restaurant if you go).
When you come inside, there is a small bar just a bit forward to your left. There is also a table (or perhaps two) directly to your left; that area seems to be reserved for larger parties. The tables all have white table clothes and are fairly small, and the walls are this nice, dark maroonish color. The majority of the tables are on the right side going all the way back to the back wall. Right after the bar on your left is the kitchen, which is partially open, so if you do not like to see the cooks working and the wait staff going back and forth to the station, you may not like this restaurant. They even have a television at the bar and another one by the kitchen that the cooks tend to watch from time to time (I remember a specific time they were watching Deal or No Deal but who can blame them?! I love that show).
We just went back there tonight, and now I can finally comment on the ladies restrooms. They were fine. Both stalls were clean and the area was pretty large. No major disaster there.
What I really like about the people who work here is that they are all so friendly. It reminds me of your friendly, neighborhood pizza place, but a bit higher end.
Parking is pretty easy. There is a free parking area up the hill behind where the restaurant is (it is just off of the road between CVS and Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins). It appears that they have finished the renovations to the parking lot, so it is much easier to go in and out of. There is also some on-street parking, but we have never bothered with that because the walk is so short from the parking lot.
The Food
Now here is why we keep coming back. The food is fantastic! They offer specials each night, which the waiter (or waitress) will tell you when you sit down, or, once the website completely finished, I imagine that they will list them there. Regardless of whether you get a special or not, you get great food, and there is plenty of it. We have had leftovers to eat another night every time we came.
So, you sit down at a table, which can sometimes be a little tight as they do pack in quite a few tables into a small space, but you get over that really quickly. The hardest part is being able to fit all of this great food onto the table itself.
The wait person will hand you a menu and you are given a wine menu as well. There are just so many great choices of food. Then the wait person comes back and takes your drink order. In addition to wine, you can get a variety of mixed drinks and beer as well, as they do have a bar. The prices of the wines are reasonable and they do have a decent selection. I am not a wine connoisseur, so basically, if they have a good variety of white wine selections by the glass (meaning five or so), I am happy. The bar does not seem to have as many other choices though, mostly beer. My husband has gotten a bloody mary, but the last few times we have been there they did not have them.
Then they usually bring back your drinks and some bread along with oil with seasonings in it. The bread is always excellent, as is the flavor of the oil and seasonings. Save your appetite though; the food fest has only just begun.
Now, they have a fantastic selection of appetizers as well, but I am sad to say, in all the times we have eaten here, I do not think we have had one, because we tend to gravitate toward the salad as our appetizer. I have been tempted to try their mussels, because they simmer them in a spicy garlic sauce, and how can you go wrong with that?! The littleneck clams, roasted in a spicy tomato basil broth sounds good as well as the antipasti for two. If you are looking for an appetizer, it will run you anywhere from $8 - $13 depending on what you choose.
Salads are a different story. I have been here multiple times and just cannot pass up the Caesar salad. They put just enough dressing on it, and the lettuce is fresh, crisp and tasty. They also put shaved parmesan cheese on it. My husband tends to go for one of the other salads, and has expressed numerous times how fresh the vegetables are. By the way, the salads are relatively inexpensive ($5.99 for a Caesar), and did I mention that they are huge?! You could potentially share one, but often my husband and I never do, because the salads are just that good.
As for an entrée, my personal favorite is the Chicken Parmesan ($15.99). The plate of chicken they give you is beyond huge, and then you get a side plate of pasta to go with it. That meal with a Caesar salad and I am in HEAVEN! My husband tends to go for the Fruitti Di Mare ($21.99), but it is always good and very flavorful. You generally get two sides to go with your meal, but the two above that we just adore do not have sides (not that you need them). I had an incredible baked haddock with shrimp, and chose the potato gratin with fontina cheese, chives and proscuitto and it was heavenly (very flavorful, a big rich, but very good and plenty of it). When in doubt, you cannot go wrong with sautéed spinach with garlic and olive oil. The prices depend on what you choose, and how much food you order, but our bill tends to run between $50 - $75 (for two people). Not bad for a really quality meal (and leftovers).
As for dessert, they have many choices, like cheesecake, a molten lava cake, etc. etc., but I tend to gravitate toward a nice cup of decaf and an order of their mini canolis ($5.00). You have a nice plate of three small canolis with chocolate drizzle on the plate and some whipped cream. VERY yummy.
Overall
I cannot praise this place enough. The food is fantastic, the service is great and the selection is great. We will be back here whenever we get a chance.
Thanks to all who read/rate.
