For Christmas, Santa "brought" my boys 4 Activity Books from Trend Enterprises. Two of the books focused on letter skills and two on mazes. One of these activity books was Pre-Printing with Mazes.

Pre-Printing with Mazes is a reusable workbook in that the pages are laminated, allowing you to use a dry-erase marker to practice completing 1 to 2-page mazes on each page. Then when done, you just use a dry cloth to clean the page. You can purchase Wipe-Off Markers that go along with these books. They are nice because they have no odor. Any dry erase marker works well, though. And in a pinch you can use a washable Crayola, but then you need a wet cloth to get the page clean again.

The workbooks can be found online or at Target in the kid's book section. They cost around $4.50 each and the markers (a set of four) costs around $4.

The activity books were created by a teacher for pre-k to kindergarten, but my two year old and three year old LOVE THEM. Of the 6 Activity Books from Trend Enterprises that we currently own, this is my three year old's favorite. Since he can use the workbook over and over again, he can practice the skillsets used multiple times, so we get a lot of use out of this book. And it's so awesome to see him progress with skills, from not understanding how to complete the maze to doing one with ease within a day. And he has so much fun completing it!

You might wonder what skills a child learns from "fun" mazes. Well, it helps them develop eye/hand coordination, fine motor skills, pre-writing skills, problem solving strategies, left to right progression and concentration skills. What's great is that even though my 3 year old doesn't like coloring, he will complete the pages on this Activity Book! So he is still learning how to trace and stay in between the lines.

There are 27 pages in Pre-Printing with Mazes from Trend Enterprises. The mazes in this book are perfect for young children, having multiple ways to complete the maze from start to finish. In this book, you are always helping a mouse to reach his cheese, but there are great, colorful scenarios. For example, the mouse is diving through a colorful ocean to get to a ship made of cheese. Or maybe the mouse is a pirate trying to reach a treasure chest full of cheese. The images are cute, colorful and my kids love helping the mouse get to his cheese.

Both boys will play with this workbook, but of the 6 we own this is my 3 year old's favorite. There is no downfall to this product at all. The only "bummer" associated with this activity is with the markers. My youngest son is AWFUL with markers, so we go through a lot of them. But this is my gift of the year - I plan to give it to every child that is between 2 and 6 years old! And there are a lot more workbooks to choose from!
