My toddler has be teething a ton.  I had always intended to get crib wraps but waited to long and then noticed some teeth marks on the railings of my crib!  Oops, guess I should have gotten these sooner.  Now we have the crib wrap to save it from getting any worse.  We want the crib to last until it becomes a full sized bed, so we really don't want bite marks.  Any parent should buy these for ANY crib before your child grows teeth.  Once they grow teeth, they can easily leave marks on any crib!  Teeth are strong, especially when they are knawing on something.

The Behavior
Looking in the video monitor, I saw what her behavior was and how the crib got marks on it.   My teething toddler would stand up and her head was about even with the top of the railing.  She would then hold on with both hands and just lean forward and bite bite bite.  When she was upset, she would do this more.  

How This Crib Wrap Works
This crib wrap is really a very simple thing!  The Trend-Lab Crib Wrap Rail Gaurd folds over the front long rail of your crib.  Three ties are used to keep it in place.  The tie on one side threads through the Crib Wrap on the other side so it is really secure.  They recommend double knotting to prevent your child from getting it off.  However because of the material, a single knot seems to work great.  It is really tight and I can't even easily untie it.

If she leans over to bite now, she just gets this crib wrap to bite on.  She can feel free to bite on the crib wrap as much as she wants because it is super thick.  There is no way she can add new marks to the crib railing by biting now.  

The Technical Aspects
The Crib Wrap we choose is Sage, to match the sage walls in her room.  We have a DaVinci Emily crib and it fits just like in the picture.  Actually, I think the picture above IS of a DaVinci Emily crib.  It measures 51 inches long and basically fits perfectly as far as the length goes.  When folded over the railing, it goes down about 8-9", so plenty of room to wrap around any size railing.

The Trend Lab CribWrap has a waterproof layer, which is great because teething babies often slobber too!  It never feels wet to the touch because it soaks it up well.  It's machine washable so I just throw it in her laundry whenever I have a load, to keep it as clean as possible.  The outside of it is a soft, blanket-like material.  Sometimes I catch my tired toddler standing up and laying her head on this crib wrap because it is soft.  I was afraid she would flip out when I put these on, because it is something new, but instead she seems to find comfort in them.  Now, if she wakes up in teething pain, she will often bite on the crib wrap for a minute, relax, and then go back to sleep.  She never did that before the crib wraps!  Chewing on wood is just not as relaxing I guess.
