FAIL! FAIL! FAIL! TRESemme Flawless Curls Curl Moisturizing Shampoo .

Rated a Very Helpful Review by the Epinions community
Pros:Smells good, lathers well, seems to rinse out well, cheap
Cons:Dries out my hair, makes my hair frizzy, weighs my waves down, too harsh
The Bottom Line: TRESemmé Tresemme Flawless Curls Curl Moisturizing Shampoo made my hair dry, frizzy, and dull. It's too harsh for my hair! Weighed my waves down too.

My hair has become wavy now that I am older and have a lot of layers. I have decided to push the wave and try to get some curl for a change. I have had straight hair for years. I bought several products that help boost curls and many work well. I picked up a bottle of TRESemmé Flawless Curls Curl Moisturizing Shampoo and the conditioner figuring I night as well start at the shampoo and conditioning stage to start amping up and hydrating my wimpy waves.

Oh, this shampoo is BAD! It stripped my hair and made it frizzy. It didn't help with my waves at all. It just made my hair look like a bird's nest.

About the Product

Moisturizes to give you optimal hydration where your curls need it most. Enriched with vitamin B1, this shampoo nourishes and strengthens while delivering a boost of moisture to soften and hydrate curls and waves. Gentle enough for daily use, this formula is ideal for curly and wavy hair.

Packaging

TRESemmé Flawless Curls Curl Moisturizing Shampoo comes in a big 32 ounce black plastic bottle. I assume they sell smaller sizes but the large bottle was cheap so I didn't look for other sizes. I didn't know I would not like it and end up wasting it. The top is a toggle type. You push down on one side and the other side opens to reveal a slotted opening. The shampoo is decent smelling. It smells like...shampoo. Men could use this without smelling too feminine. It's fairly thick and lathers well. It seems to rinse out well too. But that's where my praise stops.

My Experience

I jumped in the shower armed with my Curl Moisturizing Shampoo and conditioner and went to work. The shampoo smelled nice and lathered fine. It did seem a bit harsh though. I didn't feel that it was hydrating my hair. When I rinsed it out, my hair felt like straw. But I figured the conditioner would take care of that.

When it was time to style my hair, it looked really dry and somewhat frizzy. It didn't have much shine and my hair was less wavy than usual. I went ahead and styled my hair but didn't like how it looked.

The next time I used TRESemmé Flawless Curls Curl Moisturizing Shampoo, I used a deep conditioner. That helped the dryness but weighed my hair down.

I tried a few conditioners with the shampoo and determined that it simply is not right for me. It makes my hair dry, dull, and a bit frizzy. I don't understand how they can call this a moisturizing shampoo when it does the opposite.

I won't use the rest of what I have and I really don't know what I will do with it. I have two sisters with naturally curly hair but they don't want shampoo that dries their hair out any more than I do!

Buying Info

You can purchase TRESemmé Flawless Curls Curl Moisturizing Shampoo in the large bottles as well as smaller bottles at drugstores and mass-market stores on and offline. It's inexpensive. I paid around $5.00 for the 32 ounce bottle, maybe a bit less.

 The Verdict

Sometimes you get a great deal when you try inexpensive things and sometimes you get what you pay for. In the case of TRESemmé Flawless Curls Curl Moisturizing Shampoo, I got less than I paid for. Not only did it not hydrate my hair, it made my hair dry, frizzy, and did nothing for my waves. It may be good for those with oily hair but mine is dry and this shampoo is just too harsh. 2 stars.
