| genboy's Full Review: Troy-Bilt 3hp Tuffy Tiller |
I bought this tiller (Troy Bilt Tuffy 3.5 hp) because I needed a tiller badly, didn't want to spend a lot, and have lots of small beds to work on besides a full garden. There weren't many competitors below the $499 price, and the Troy Bilt name is great, so I bought it. The quality is great; starts on one pull; fairly easy to maneuver. On the down side, it's not the machine for busting soil. Bucks like a Bronco. I'm too impatient to go over and over, gradually increasing the depth. My bad...
In retrospect, I should have accepted the high entry price on tillers, then spent $700 or $800 to get the power and weight I need. (BTW, my full garden is about 2500 square feet. So I shoulda known.) This tiller has its place; but if you have bigs jobs and sod busting, go higher on the Troy Bilt list.
