| ampmom's Full Review: Troy-Bilt 6.5hp Super Bronco Tiller |
First, let me say that my in-laws purchased their Troy-bilt used and it has lasted years and years. We've had ours just this season but expect a long level of service from it. Also, we ordered it directly from Troy-bilt for the same price as the local Lowes and Home Depot stores. It had free shipping, a bonus bumper added, and there was no tax, so on-line was a better deal. Plus we had 90 days same as cash.
We rented a tiller several times before deciding it would be better to just buy one. We had to put in a new yard and we have a garden, fairly large size, each year. This model has a nice size tilling width, the tines are large size, there is a back flap that levels the ground as it goes, a forward and rear drive, and the wheels can be adjusted for easy moving from here to there without moving the tines.
The Briggs and Stratton engine was a plus. It has always been a good value on other equipment such as mowers. I've known other users of this engine brand and they have always been satisfied customers, so this was a consideration when purchasing this model.
When using the machine, the user must maintain a good hold on the handles as it can easily get out of control. It is such a powerful machine that it practically runs itself and will try if allowed! This is mainly when the plow is in the upward most position. When it is down, the machine can easily be maneuvered with one hand.
