Pros: Cast iron drive tran
Cons: wild machine, well named (Bronco)
hard to control, not good for tilling
The Bottom Line: Very hard to control unless you don't mind making six passes over each area to till to a decent depth.

| gerard9's Full Review: Troy-Bilt 6.5hp Super Bronco Tiller |
The machine is properly named..Bronco. Anyone who can ride it for more than 8 seconds can have it. I purchased it two days ago and I'm still crying. I wanted this one for a long time and used my Air Force reenlistment 20% off coupon to buy it at my main exchange.
I put it together in about 1.5 hours (some items in the owners manual are not correct.) Filled it with oil (over filled it with oil due to a poor filling system) gassed it, inflated tires and geared-up for a great tilling time. I had at least 300sq ft to till in prep for a driveway and landscape project. My first disappointment (not counting the owners manual and oil fiesco) was having to manually lift the machine, remove cotter and hitch pins, slide wheels in, and replace pins just to roll it to the job site. OK, no big deal, this is a great machine and I'm going to love the tilling action...... That thought lasted all of 3 seconds as me, tiller and my wishful thoughts all launched 5 feet into the air and landed well past my intended tilling target. Just a glitch? Reread the manual? Hit a root? Maybe, so I give it another shot. To keep this short, I give it another 20 shots....until sundown..then the next day. Yes, I'm still crying because I want this engineering wonder to work for me, not work me out. I still have my neighbors rear tine tiller I borrowed a week ago and ended up using it. This machine may be good for mixing loose soil or sand, but as already stated; that's not what "we" need here or paid for.
I will return it, eat the loss of my coupon and take it as a lesson learned. I normally read and review everything before I buy.....guess the Troy-Built advertising got me this time. And just to validate this review. I own, operate and repair more equipment than any one man should have. If you decide to buy this "mixer" wear your flight suit and standby for lift-off.
