Pros:It is a very well designed and very dependable machine.
Cons:None yet.
The Bottom Line: Troy-Bilt 8hp tiller is a very dependable, easy to use, top of the line "Machine", anyhing built in New York, USA has to be good.

First things first, a Troy-Bilt tiller is the top of the line Tiller, The 8hp tiller comes in two types, you have the standard, which you pull start by hand, or you have the electric start which really comes in handy. For first time users the owners manual is very easy to follow and explains everything you need to know to get started on your tilling chores. For your safety decals are located on your machine right in front of you when you begin to operate, it also goes through the steps one by one on how to operate everything, sure beats having to carry the owners manual with you when your first learning to operate this tiller. There is so many unique features it would take for ever to list them all, here are just a few, it has a powerful 8hp Briggs & Stratton single cylinder, L-head, air cooled engine, which is a low emissions engine. You have three operating positions: Forward, Neutral and reverse(which comes in very handy). You have three wheel speeds: Slow, Fast and free wheel, you have the options to adjust the handlebar height to fit you perfectly. You have the depth regulator you can adjust with a simple pull on the depth lever, which can till to a depth of 8". It has Forward interlock levers which is a safety control that stops the engine should you lose control while going forward and cannot shift into NEUTRAL. It is also designed for one hand operation so you can till while walking on side of the machine avoiding footprints in the freshly tilled soil. It also has a PTO attachment Feature in addition to powerful tilling capability, you can quickly convert your machine into a PTO(Power take-off) power unit that is capable of towing or powering various TROY-BILT attachments, PTO Chipper/Shredder, PTO Log Splitter. There are other unique attachments such as, Dozer/Snow blade attachment, Hiller/Furrower attachment, Row marker attachment, tire chains, Tow hitch attachments, V-sweep cultivator, Wheel weights, Wrap-Around Bumper guard.(Told you there were alot of features). You really have to use a Troy-Bilt to appreciate the craftsmanship put into this "Machine". It does the job year after year. You will need to follow the maintenance schedule for trouble free operation. The owners manual will walk you through this step by step, year after year. Some complain it's to noisy(wear ear plugs). It is a little expensive, but you pay for what you get, and in this case a fine oiled "Machine". I know a man 85 years young, still uses his 8hp Troy-Bilt tiller year after year. The longer you use it, the easier it gets to handle. I can till my 60'x60' garden, and make my rows in about 4 hours. Before I bought my 8hp Troy-Bilt, I owned the 6hp pony for 12 years,I just decided to get one a little bigger so I sold my 6hp and bought the 8hp model. If your looking for a tiller that will give you beautiful gardens and ease of operation, dependability and pleasure buy a Troy-Bilt.
