LILvoyce's Full Review: True Bath & Body Works Cotton Dress Shea Light Bod...
The sticker on the bottom of my True Blue Naked Cotton Dress Shea Light Body Lotion in the 8.4fl oz plastic pump retails for $15. To my surprise I was able to catch this product on sale for under $5. Sometimes Bath & Body Works has some amazing sales.
Like the title of my Review? Well when I asked my boyfriend what he thought of the smell of my lotion he had some negatives things to say. I had just taken my shower and applied this lotion from neck to toe. He took a whiff, and then told me that the smell of this product wanted to make him run away. He said that it was too floral, and extremely overpowering. To be honest, he said that it gave him a headache. I wasn't prepared for his honest feeling about my lotion, being that the other day he came up to me, and kissed me on the cheek while telling me how wonderful I smelled. I told him that I didn't have any perfume on. Then I realized it was my True Blue Naked lotion that I had put on a few hours ago. He told me that I should wear whatever it was ALL the time. What?!? Such moodswings this lotion expresses!
My Thoughts On this Product
I love this lotion. I have probably used almost a half a bottle in less than a month now. This lotion is suposed to be described as a "light body lotion." What exactly does that mean? A lighter feeling lotion? A light in scent? I would describe this lotion as light in the moisturizing department. If I really had dry skin I would opt for something else. Other than that, this lotion dries fast. While it is strong at first, it the scent eventually dies down. My boyfriend then describes this same lotion in one word: SOFT. I agree. You go from a strong floral scent, down to a very light powdery cotton scent. I don't use a lot of perfume or cologne sprays. I much prefer a scented lotion. I like a softer scent. If you are going to use this product, just like you would a perfume put it on before you go out so that it has time to calm down.
This product does feel light after it dries. I don't feel a lot of moisturizing going on. Basically I would be a repeat buyer of this product just for the scent alone. If I could change one thing about this product, it would be that it made my skin feel more moisturized and soft. It doesn't feel too different than when I hadn't applied this product. I also want to mention that this lotion comes out white and a bit runny. I have experienced better lotions in my past.
Pakaging and Price
While I mentioned earlier that this product retails for $15, I would have been upset if I paid that much and didn't get the full moisturizing treatment. So on sale for under $5, I can live with the flaw just to get that amazing scent. In the 8.4 fl oz plastic bottle, you are getting a pump. One pump's worth is enough for me to do both hands. I use more for the rest of my body. The plastic bottle is durable, and been bounced all around the bathroom.
Overall
If you can live without the need for a good moisturizing lotion then the scent will surely win you over. Just be sure to use it before you go out as it tend to get carried away in aroma until it has had the chance to calm down.
