As I've gotten older, I've had to deal more and more often with heartburn and indigestion.  I'm sure part of the reason I suffer so much is because my diet isn't as healthy as it should be.  I'm overweight and enjoy alcoholic beverages.  It also sort of runs in my family.  When I was growing up, my mother kept a big plastic container of Tums Antacids by her favorite chair.  

Anyway, because I frequently get heartburn and indigestion, I've had occasion to try several different varieties of Tums.  The last time I went to the grocery store in search of Tums, my eyes fell on an 80 count container of Tums Extra Strength Sugar Free Antacid/Calcium Supplement, orange cream flavor.  I remember pondering for a moment, wondering if I really wanted just orange cream flavored antacid tablets, since I usually buy Tums in assorted flavors.  But I realized it would give me a chance to write a review and I do like orange flavored things.  So I bought my Tums and have been using it for a couple of weeks now.  

Product claims 

These Tums are calcium rich and intended to relieve sour stomach, heartburn, acid indigestion, and upset stomach associated with these symptoms.  Tums can also be used as a daily calcium supplement.  Each tablet contains five calories.  This product contains aspartame and sorbitol.

Directions 

Chew 2-4 tablets as symptoms occur or as directed by a doctor.  Do not take more than nine tablets in 24 hours and do not use the maximum dosage for more than two weeks.  Keep out of reach of children and consult a doctor or pharmacist if you take prescription drugs.  Antacids can interact with certain drugs.

My experiences 

I usually take one or two tablets when I feel heartburn coming on and I'm proud to report that Tums usually works immediately to relieve my symptoms of indigestion.  I also like the flavor somewhat. I thought I might be bored by just orange cream flavored Tums, but these taste somewhat decent.  I wouldn't think of them as candy, but they aren't too hard to choke down.  They do have a somewhat hard, chalky texture, so be careful biting down on them.

Overall 

This product does what I need it to do.  I will keep using it... or one of the other Tums flavor varieties, to keep my indigestion in check.  It seems easier than just changing my diet and losing some weight!
