Hey, call it an IPA if you want. that's the beauty of the hoppy continuum. With the exceptions you note and only a few others, IPAs tend to be more one-dimensional in this country while pale ales are more "balanced" by their malt backbone. It's purely up to the beer holder, of course, since even the BJCP style guides overlap the two (and amber ales).
Also, what kind of luck do you have at the Brickskellar? Just gotta remember to have your top five choices handy when the server takes your order...
(I see you seem to bat about .500 by saying 400-500 beers at any given time, so I'm just bustin' yer balls here.)
