Pros:Easy to use, coats evenly, secure seal.
Cons:Requires a bit of force to seal the two pieces.
The Bottom Line: The best Marinade container I have used.
This is an essential tool for any kitchen. It is easy to use, secure, and works very well. It makes marinating food a lot easier.
How it works
There are 2 pieces that are sealed together to form a leak proof box. You put the food in one part, pour your marinade, and seal the two pieces. Put it in the fridge for 6-24 hours (depending on the food) and flip it over every few hours.
The seal is a simple seal (like a lid on a cup) but it has a much deeper groove. In addition the two pieces fit very tightly together, almost too tight. There are no clamps and you do not need to wrap a rubber band around it.
There are three reasons why this works better than other systems. First you can flip the box very easily. This ensures that the marinade contacts every part of your food. You have easy access to food after you open the container. And the unit has a textured bottom that allows the marinade to contact the food on the bottom.
How is the seal?
It is nice and tight. Just make sure you double check the seal because it requires a lot of force to put the two pieces together. I have made the mistake of not sealing it properly and it has leaked on me. The leaking is because of user error not the product design.
What I like
It is easy to use.
It evenly coats the food.
Easy access to food.
The bottom is textures to help with even coating.
Plenty of room for 4-8 servings. (depending on size.)
The two pieces store in each other to make storage much easier.
What I do not like
Occasionally the seal will not work perfectly if I do not put enough pressure to close the two pieces. It is not dummy proof so you need to put a lot of force to make sure it is sealed. This past 4th of July I ruined a shirt because it leaked out the side.
Who is this for?
Anyone that wants an easy way to marinade and hates to use disposable bags.
Alternatives
I really like this container because it is easy to use and flip. But it is not necessary. You can just as easily marinade in a Ziploc quart or gallon bag. Ziplocs are very secure and was my choice before I bought my own container. The only problem with this option is that it is harder to get the food out of the bag than it is a tray. The bag also goes into the landfill.
I saw a tip for getting the excess air out of the Ziploc bag. You just submerge the bad in a sink of water and this forces the air out, just dont like the opening get submerged or water will flow in.
What I use it for.
I mainly do a teriyaki marinade. I use two different types of teriyaki sauce and some sort of liquid. All three liquids are in even proportions. Having a liquid seems to cut down the saltiness of the teriyaki as well as add a different flavor. In addition I have done teriyaki beef, buffalo chicken, and various BBQ style sauces for smaller cuts of beef.
When I have run out of bowls I have used this as my dry and wet containers for fried chicken. The sides are deep enough so it works quite well for preparing fried foods.
Cleaning
First, the plastic is not stained and I cannot sense any odors from this plastic. I love Tupperware products. I only wash this in the dishwasher and so far there is no damage caused by cleaning it that way.
Durability
My mom had one for years (at least 10) and she had no problems with it. Im sure I would find it in my dads kitchen if I looked for it. I have had mine for 3 years now and so far I have had no complaints. There is no wear and tear, no stains, no fear of cracks forming, nothing. A great product.

Summary
This is a great marinade container. It even coats the food, allows you to flip the food easily, and does not leak if properly sealed. It is easy to clean and does not retain food odors like some plastics do. The product is very durable and will last a long time. I highly recommend it.
