I Really Appreciate (Reply to this comment)

this review, and the comments. My daughter's about to turn 4, and has always been in the 90-95th percentile for size. I've been anxious to get her out of the baby seat, but very cautious about safety. Thanks, guys, for keeping another Epinioner informed!
P.S. Great review--I will look for this model, when appropriate.

Thanks for the comments.....
For this review was written over 4 years ago, so apparently the age recommendations have changed over time.

In shopping for a booster for an 8 year old, this was the first turbo booster review I saw, and I, too, was shocked. You sound very educated, and it was an awesome detailed review :) However, NO 2 year old should ever be in a booster seat without a harness!! There are other options, even an inexpensive one, now (Wasn't available when the review was first written) Safety1st Apex 65 will harness to 65 lbs and then be a booster. Two-year-olds are not ready for a booster. Even most state laws aver that kids be in harnesses until at least 40lbs and 4 year olds. Thanks for the details about features, but shoppers, please don't put your babies in boosters!

The Turbobooster is rated for 3 and up, but any tech will tell you that at 3 a child is WAY safer in a harness. I think it should be illegal to market a booster to children under 4 because of the safety implications. Putting a 2 year old in a booster is something you could easily regret for the rest of your life if you are in an accident. When our vehicle was totaled, the first thing they asked in the ER was whether my daughter was in a harnessed seat. Had she been in a bosster, I was told that they would expect organ damage - she was 3.5 and unharmed in her harnessed seat. There are many options to keep bigger kids harnessed now (Britax Boulevard, Britax Marathon, Cosco Apex, Sunshine Kids Radian . . .).

The Beast (age 2 1/2) is just about outgrown his current car seat, and we are looking for a new larger one. You review has helped me decide, thanks very much!

I was so happy to see that you reviewed this product (because I knew I would read about all the features so important to a mom like me)! Thanks for not letting me down.
