When I was in Junior High and High School, I used to sit up at night on the weekends and watch television. Many times after midnight, the only thing that was on was an infomercial. I think I saw every infomercial from 1988 through 1992. This wax had it's own infomercial that I caught one night late.

As I was watching the program, I couldn't believe how great it made the cars look that had a paint job in pretty bad condition.
In 1991, I bought a Ford Mustang after I had started my senior year. I was bound and determined to keep it in perfect condition looking great. So, I went to Wal-Mart to get some wax. I saw this bottle and couldn't believe that it was being carried in retail stores. I just had to buy it. I couldn't wait until that Saturday so I could wash my car and then put a coat of this amazing stuff on it.
Saturday rolled around and a friend and I washed our cars and then started waxing mine. I couldn't believe how great this was. I had a few minor scratches before I put the Color Match on that were no where to be found after this was applied. I was amazed that it worked as well as the infomercial said it would.
Well, as time went by, I used this product about once every 3-4 months. My car kept looking great, after I applied this wax. I noticed that, the more times I put this on my car, the quicker it wore off and the worse the paint looked.
According to the infomercial, this product takes the paint from your car and adds to it to fill in the scratches. I believe it did just this. The only problem is that every time it wore off, some of the paint wore off with it. After a few years of using this product, I had to apply it every month to keep my car from looking very faded.
I finally gave up on this product after I got a little older and a great looking car wasn't top priority. Now my car's paint job is very faded and looks really bad. I attribute this to the Color Match. I have seen other Mustangs of this same year in which the paint looks much better and they have done nothing but wax it with regular car wax.
In a nutshell, Color Match will make your car look very good for a short period of time. Each time it is applied, more of the paint wears off of the car causing the paint to fade. I guess it's one of those products that once you get hooked on it, you have to keep using it forever. This is a great idea for Turtle Wax, but it isn't feasible for the average car owner.
This is not a product I can recommend if you plan on keeping your car for an extended period of time. If you are the type of person who buys a new car every three or four years, this is a great product...just make sure you give it a good application before taking it to the dealer for a trade-in.
