Tuscany Suites is great value
Written: May 27 '07
Pros:quiet, like an oasis, huge rooms, nice pool area, friendly service
Cons:not right on the strip, food of mixed quality
The Bottom Line: A clean, quiet, spacious, reasonably-priced hotel in a resort-like, park-like setting a 15-minute walk from the strip. Highly recommended.
4 of us stayed in 2 rooms at the Tuscany Suites in May 2007 on a pleasure trip to Las Vegas. It was very hot, over 100 degrees, and the partly shaded central pool area provided great relaxation and relief from the heat. Plenty of clean towels, friendly waitress to serve drinks, relatively quiet, lots of shaded walkways with tables and very comfortable chairs. It wasn't a problem getting a chair or a pool lounger.
This was a great way to see Vegas, a 15-minute walk off the strip. This hotel has about 1 dozen 3-storey buildings of rooms with pleasant tree-lined paths in between. I felt as though I was in a resort. The bustle of Vegas just a short walk or cab ride away, and the quiet resort of Tuscany to relax or gamble in as well. However, for people who can't or don't want to walk far, the 15-minute walk to the strip may be a problem.
There is a small casino with most typical games and friendly staff, bars, restaurants, and a conference level. There is also a small gym with its own outdoor lap pool. The Mexican restaurant was adequate, while the 24-hr Marilyn's Cafe had mixed quality. They had a very good steak, but the country-fried chicken was of suspect quality, very grisly. They're fine for breakfast, how much can you do wrong with eggs and toast. We did not eat in the higher end restaurant there, the Tuscany Gardens, but the menu looked promising. Drinks at the pool were cheap and good, and of course free in the casino.
The rooms are huge, about 600 sq. ft. with kitchenette, dining area, living area, bedroom area, and a huge bathroom with shower stall, bathtub, and a separate toilet room.
Everything was clean and tidy, and the price was pretty reasonable. All four of us were very pleased and left wonderfully relaxed after a fun 3 days and nights in Vegas.
