| megood's Full Review: Tushies the Gel-Free Diaper |
I bought this diaper after discovering the 7th generation diaper has chlorine in it even though they entitle the diaper a "chlorine-free diaper" on the packaging. Very mis-leading and frusterating. I ordered the tushies and discovered that they are extremely bulky and that I had a lot of problems with leaks, and I change my daughter every 2 hours so it had nothing to do with laziness. I loved the idea that they are 100% cotton with no chemicals but could not tolerate the leaking. Night time was a total disaster as you can imagine so I went back to using the huggies while I waited for the tender care plus diapers to get here, they are kind of my second choice as far as the fact that they have some gel in them un-like the tushies, but they work very well as far as leaks go and are not bulky. I understand that there is some concern regarding all of that bulk in the tushies bec. it may cause some hip or joint issues with a growing child. My daughter also got a really bad rash bec. any time she wet which must have been all the time it was right next to her skin until I changed her again. I am going to try the mother nature boy and girl diapers next because I have noticed a little bit of gel on my daughters skin since I have used the tender care diapers and I am not very comfortable with that. The tushies are also very expensive although if it weren't for the leak/rash issue I would have gladly continued to get them, we only have one chance to do things right with our kids and I believe that chemicals in regular disposables are probably very harmful although not many know it yet.
