Pros: fast paced, reaches numerous emotions, believable characters
Cons: none
The Bottom Line: I love the series as a whole, but the first novel is what truly draws you in and keeps you interested. The characters are believable and mature beyond their years.
dev-n-diva's Full Review: Stephenie Meyer - Twilight
I had heard so many rave reviews about the movie Twilight based off of Stephenie Meyer's teenage vampire series that I had to read the book. I still have not seen the movie yet,but have managed to be so drawn to the series that I managed to get through all four books in a weeks time.
Isabella Swan is a normal seventeen year old that is trying to do right by her mother. She moves from Phoenix to Forks, Washington to live with her dad Charlie. This way her mother can go and be with her husband Phil who is currently living in Florida playing baseball. Isabella is dreading the move since she can not stand Forks just like her mother couldn't but wants to do this for her mother.
After a tense reunion Charlie and Isabella (Bella) grow into a routine that both can live with. School is the norm though being the new kid and the center of attention is exactly what Bella had hoped to avoid. That is until she saw the most beautiful boy she had ever seen. Edward Cullen was not only beautiful but mysterious as well. She wanted to know more about him,but he acted like he could not stand her and she had done nothing wrong.
Bella was determined to find out more about this most amazing boy, but what would it cost her and would she be able to handle the truth?

I could not believe how fast this story had me drawn in and eager for more. Being a teen/young adult book I had figured on more childish antics than the mature characters that I was reading about. Meyer made each of the characters very believable even the Cullens being vampires was not a stretch the way she wrote this and with such description that one would not think anything of it.
The pages flow with emotion, action, and wisdom/maturity that goes beyond the years of the characters true ages. The twists and turns captivate you and make you feel like you are actually in the book instead of just reading it.
The plot moves smoothly without holes or jumps that make you feel like you are missing something. This is not your average/normal vampire novel this is truly something special and I highly recommend reading it.
